Tips

How to make a great clothing price list

Units, tiers and updates on a clothing price list

An apparel price list works best as a reorder tool for core styles that stay in the line season after season. List style number, name, size range, wholesale and MSRP, then add an at-once column marking what is in stock today versus prebook only. If extended sizes cost more, show the split price ("XS–XL $24, 2X–3X $27") on the same line rather than burying it in the terms.

Fields to show on a clothing price list

Style number, style name, fabric content and weight (for example 100% organic cotton, 180 gsm), size range, colorways, wholesale price, MSRP, delivery window and minimum per color. A short size-scale note ("S/M/L/XL ratio 1:2:2:1") helps buyers build a pack.

FAQ

Clothing price list questions

Do I need a separate price list if I already have a line sheet?

Many brands keep one: the line sheet sells the season, while a one-page price list lets stockists reorder basics quickly. Keep the style numbers identical so both documents match your invoices.

What is the difference between prebook and at-once orders?

Prebook orders are placed months ahead for a future season and produced to order; at-once orders ship from stock now. Put both on the line sheet with clear delivery dates so buyers know what they can sell this month and what arrives later.

How often should I update my price list?

Reissue it whenever costs move enough to change a price, and at least once a year. Always print an effective date at the top so buyers know which version they are holding; with an online catalog link they always see the current one.
